LMS: Building Bridges in GOAL

Students in Gaye Napier’s seventh and eighth grade gifted classes at Laurel Middle School used math, science, and social skills to build the strongest, most economical bridge from toothpicks. The bridges were tested to see which bridge would hold the most weight. The company “Bridge Connection” won first place. Their bridge held 22.10 lbs. of water. Coming in 2nd Place was Dylan Blackburn, Cameron Burns and Raekwon Pettis. Their bridge held 21.10 lbs.
